Help and Minecraft guides
Your first build
From an idea to a build you can use in Minecraft.
## Find your starting point
Search for a build or browse categories. Open a build to inspect its materials, dimensions and compatible Java versions. Use the layer selector to examine the construction one level at a time.
## Create your own
Create an account and open **Build editor**. Choose a block from the palette, place blocks with the right mouse button and remove them with the left mouse button. Save a draft regularly. Your drafts stay in **My builds** until you submit or publish them.
## Bring it into Minecraft
Download JSON to keep an editable BlockMora copy, or export **.schem** for WorldEdit. The viewer ground and sky are display helpers and are not part of your saved structure. See the WorldEdit guide before importing into a valuable world.
Creative flight and editing
Movement, block placement and switching camera modes.
## Camera and mouse
The viewer starts in **3D / Orbit**. Drag to orbit and scroll to zoom; WASD / arrows move the view. Enable Creative flight, then click the scene for mouse look. WASD moves, Space rises, Shift descends and Ctrl moves faster. Editing actions require an editable build.
## Place, remove and rotate
In the editor: right click places, left click removes, middle click picks a block. **R / Shift + wheel** rotates the selected block; **F / Alt + wheel** cycles a useful additional blockstate. Change precise properties in the side panel for an immediate preview. Beds and doors are edited as matching pairs. Undo/redo correct changes before saving.
## Fullscreen and palette
Use Fullscreen to fill the view. **E** or the palette button opens/closes the block palette in both the embedded and fullscreen editor. First **Esc** ends Creative flight and releases the mouse; a second leaves the full view. Without browser Keyboard Lock permission this fills the browser window, keeping browser chrome visible. Project rotation by 90° is inside the editor and rotates block positions and directional states.
## Display and touch
Grass starts **off**. Sky, grass, grid and placement preview are separate display switches, excluded from export. With placement preview enabled there is no competing white target outline. On touch screens use two fingers to zoom/pan and the visible place/remove/pick actions. Save your draft after editing.
## Block preview
Press **V** while the viewer is focused or the mouse is captured to toggle the placement preview without leaving Creative flight. The on/off indicator stays visible. **E** toggles the palette; choosing a block keeps it open. Click the canvas to continue building.
## 3D performance
Open **3D performance** beneath the viewer for hardware acceleration instructions. Save before restarting the browser.
Save and import JSON
An editable copy of a structure, including block states.
## Backup and import
Export JSON as an editable BlockMora backup; Minecraft does not load it directly. Choose **Import JSON / .schem** in the editor, review the result and save under your account. Keep backups before large edits.
## What is checked
Validation checks block names/states, coordinates, phase references, multipart pairs and applicable account dimensions/block limits. JSON is limited to 64 MiB with depth/complexity limits. It does not automatically certify physical support, walkability or functional redstone.
## Included content
JSON carries custom steps, title/description translations and safe sign data. Imported IDs, manual difficulty and version claims do not override application rules. Omit air and duplicate coordinates. Scripts and other file types are not build JSON.
WorldEdit: place a .schem in Minecraft
Export a structure and paste it safely into a Java world.
## Prepare and download
Use a WorldEdit installation compatible with your Java version, required permissions and a world backup. Download **.schem** while signed in and entitled to the build.
## Load and paste
Copy the file into the installation's **schematics** directory. Load with `//schem load filename` (extension handling depends on your WorldEdit version), then use `//paste` at the intended placement point. `//paste -a` skips air. Use `//undo` immediately if misplaced, then check height, facing and surroundings in a test world.
## Included data
Sponge v3 export includes supported positions, blockstates and safe sign text on both faces, dye, glow and wax. Entities, inventories, commands and simulation are omitted. Viewer grass/sky are not exported. Actual Minecraft may update fluids, gravity and redstone after pasting; test mechanisms there. Material compatibility is calculated from installed datasets, not guaranteed by a file extension.
Import .schem and .litematic
Continue working with WorldEdit or Litematica structures.
## Choose a file
Open the Build editor and import a Sponge .schem (v2/v3) or a .litematic (v5-v7). File size, dimensions, block states and your role/plan limits are checked before import. MCEdit .schematic, worlds and resource packs are not supported.
## Regions and safety
Litematic regions, including negative region sizes, are merged and their coordinates normalized. Conflicting overlapping blocks are rejected. Only known Java blocks and valid states are accepted. Safe sign text is retained; inventories, entities, ticks and executable block-entity data are omitted.
## Continue building
Review materials, orientation, doors and stairs in the 3D viewer. Save the imported build as your own draft. Test game mechanics in a separate Minecraft world. JSON preserves BlockMora construction steps; schematic formats primarily carry geometry.
Materials, layers and Minecraft versions
Plan resources and understand the compatibility display.
## Placement materials
The list counts placement items and respects actual stack sizes. A complete two-cell door or bed consumes one placement item. Tap a material for recipes when available; not every block is craftable. Icons show actual 3D models where appropriate.
## Automatic compatibility
The app compares all materials/states with installed Prismarine release datasets. You cannot manually declare a build version. Unknown datasets remain unknown. The active renderer uses Java 1.21.4; downloading newer assets alone does not add registry support.
## Layers and ground
Choose **Layers** or **Steps** below the viewer; they are separate modes. Grass starts off and can be enabled as a display helper. Add structural building floors where needed, but no extra ground slab unless the project calls for terrain.
Accounts, profiles and publishing
Keep drafts private and publish when the build is ready.
## Your public identity
Choose an available username when registering. Your public profile uses this handle rather than your account UUID. You can update your name, profile text and permitted images from account settings. A renamed username keeps its old profile link associated with your account.
## Drafts and publication
Saved drafts appear in **My builds**. Check your description, category, translations and material compatibility before submitting. Publication and moderation depend on your assigned permissions. A hidden or blocked build is not shown in the public catalogue.
## Languages and safety
Add translations for both title and description using the language selector. Configured AI translation consumes your account quota. Avoid publishing personal information in descriptions or comments. Report inappropriate public content to the moderation team.
How build difficulty is calculated
A reproducible estimate based on structure, not a manual label.
## Five factors, up to 100 points
**Scale (30):** 30 × log(1 + block count) / log(30,001). A larger build increases effort without making every large flat platform difficult.
**Palette (15):** 15 × (distinct materials − 1) / 39, capped at 15.
**Precision (20):** 20 × (share of stairs, slabs, doors, panes, rails and other alignment-sensitive blocks)^0.7.
**Engineering (20):** 2.5 × log2(1 + redstone-component count), plus up to 5 points for the fluid share; capped at 20.
**Height and access (15):** up to 12 points from occupied height, plus up to 3 for blocks without a block directly underneath.
## The resulting level
Scores below **35** are Easy, **35–64** Medium, and **65–100** Advanced. The server recomputes the result when saving or importing; an imported difficulty label is ignored. The breakdown appears with the build.
## What the estimate means
This estimates material variety, placement precision and construction effort. It does not verify a redstone circuit or farm, account for every survival resource route, or replace checking the build in Minecraft.
Layers, steps and saved progress
Choose one inspection mode and follow your construction checklist.
## Layers or steps
**Layers** shows height slices with the actual Y coordinate. **Steps** follows the author's custom construction order and opens the Instructions tab automatically. The slider reaches its right endpoint on the last real layer/step; there is no extra empty All position. Previous/Next and Shift+arrow keys use the same order, also in fullscreen.
## Visibility
**Through current** shows the current layer/step and everything before it. **This layer/step only** isolates the current selection. Optional highlighting marks current blocks. Switching modes clears the other constraint so an old layer cannot silently hide a selected step. Opening a step in the checklist selects it in the viewer.
## Manual progress
Check a step only when you have built it in Minecraft. The completed count and percentage are saved to your account and can be reset. Choosing a step or moving the slider does not complete it. There is no connection to your Minecraft world for automatic progress detection.
Blockstates, project rotation and signs
Control geometry, translations and safe text.
## Live states and rotation
Pick a block with middle click and edit supported properties on the right. Changes appear immediately. R / Shift+wheel rotates; F / Alt+wheel cycles an additional state. The editor's 90° project action rotates the complete structure, positions and directional states; Undo restores the previous state.
## Title and description languages
Use the language selector inside each field. Title and description have independent language selections; changing one does not erase the other language's content. English is the base text. Optional AI translation requires a configured provider and consumes quota.
## Safe signs
For supported sign blocks edit front/back four-line text, dye, glow and wax. These are sign data, not invented blockstates. Both JSON and .schem retain this data. Commands, click actions, selectors and dynamic NBT are not executed. Glowing text does not simulate world lighting.
Smoother 3D viewing
Enable graphics acceleration in your browser.
## Hardware acceleration
The browser can use your graphics card for the 3D viewer. This can improve smoothness and reduce CPU work. Results depend on hardware and drivers. The website cannot enable or reliably verify this browser setting.
## Chrome and Edge
Open Settings → System (or System and performance), enable **Use graphics/hardware acceleration when available**, then restart the browser. Save your project first.
## Firefox
Open Settings → General → Performance. Use recommended performance settings or untick them and enable hardware acceleration when available. Restart Firefox.
## Troubleshooting
If graphics issues appear, update the graphics driver or turn acceleration off again. Close heavy tabs and disable unnecessary viewer layers.

Litematica: export and use a build
Download a .litematic and load it in Minecraft.
## Export
Sign in and select .litematic on a build page. The filename includes the site name, build ID and slug. The export uses modern Litematic version 7 and Java blockstates.
## In Minecraft
Use a compatible Litematica installation, copy the file to its schematics folder and load it through the mod menu. Check placement, rotation and materials before building. Export contains geometry and safe sign data; it does not execute commands or simulate redstone. Back up worlds before pasting.
